Launch an email or mixed-channel campaign
Connect a mailbox, choose the right outreach path, and send email steps with the right lead context.
Funkel can run outreach from LinkedIn senders, email mailboxes, or a mix of both. The best setup depends on what you already know about the lead and where the first useful conversation is most likely to happen.
Choose the right campaign type
Use Email when you already have a list with work email addresses, or when you want the whole sequence to run from a connected mailbox without a LinkedIn invite first.
Use LinkedIn + email when you want Funkel to discover leads from LinkedIn signals, start with the LinkedIn step, then use email follow-ups when a work email is available.
Good default · If the lead source is Funkel discovery, start with LinkedIn + email. If the lead source is your own CSV or CRM list with email addresses, start with email.
What you need before launch
- A sender connection. Growth includes two sender connections, and each one can be a LinkedIn account or an email mailbox.
- For email-only campaigns, a lead list that includes email addresses.
- For mixed campaigns, a LinkedIn sender for the LinkedIn steps and a mailbox for the email steps.
- Enough enrichment credits if Funkel needs to find work emails before the first email step runs.
1. Connect a mailbox
Open Settings → Platform Accounts and connect your email account. Once connected, that mailbox can be assigned as the sender for email campaign steps.
2. Create the campaign
Create a new campaign and choose the outreach path that matches your source:
- Email: send from a mailbox to leads that already have email addresses.
- Invite: send a LinkedIn invite first, then wait for acceptance before LinkedIn messages continue.
- InMail: send through LinkedIn without a connection invite when the sender account supports it.
- LinkedIn + email: combine LinkedIn steps with email follow-ups in the same workflow.
3. Build the sequence
Email steps need a subject and a body. Manual email steps use the subject and body you write. AI email steps use your subject and message guide to generate a personalized subject and body for each lead.
In mixed workflows, Funkel checks for a work email before the first email step. If the lead already has an email, the step can run. If not, Funkel uses email enrichment first and only sends when an email is found.
4. Review and launch
Confirm the sender, daily limits, delays between steps, and whether AI-generated messages need approval before sending. Start small when you connect a new mailbox, then raise volume once replies and delivery look healthy.
What happens after someone replies?
Replies are tracked in Inbox with the lead, signal, campaign, and message context attached. Funkel stops pending follow-ups for that lead so your sequence does not keep sending after a real reply.
Deliverability basics
- Send from a real mailbox on a domain you control.
- Keep early volume low while the mailbox builds a sending pattern.
- Use the lead’s actual signal or list context in the message.
- Avoid generic blasts and repeated empty check-ins.
- Follow the rules that apply to your market and audience.
